Two-week decision product

Find the workflows worth fixing before you fund a build.

The Clerq Diagnostic turns operational drag into a prioritised, controlled and commercially usable roadmap.

For founder-led UK businesses with £1m to £20m revenue. In two weeks, Clerq traces the work, tests the business case and sets out what to change, what not to change and what each viable build would require.

What you receive

A decision pack, not a technology pitch.

The output is designed to let management decide where to invest, where to fix the process first and where automation is not justified.

01

Workflow inventory

The relevant work, systems, hand-offs, owners, volumes and recurring exceptions documented in one view.

02

Measured baseline

Available evidence on time, delay, error, control exposure or decision friction, with assumptions stated where measurement is incomplete.

03

Prioritised roadmap

Opportunities ranked by value, feasibility, risk, dependency and the strength of the available evidence.

04

Control design

Required human review, ownership, access boundaries, exception routes and acceptance criteria for viable changes.

05

Build recommendations

The simplest suitable approach for each priority, including fixed-price Clerq build recommendations where a build is justified.

06

Decision walkthrough

A 60-minute management walkthrough of the evidence, recommendations, dependencies and proposed next steps.

What Clerq needs from you

  • A named management sponsor and owners for the workflows in scope.
  • Access to the agreed systems, reports, process notes and representative examples.
  • Time with the people who perform, review and depend on the work.
  • Known constraints, current priorities and any existing change already under way.

What Clerq does with it

  • Traces the real workflow rather than relying on the written process alone.
  • Separates routine work, judgement, exceptions and control points.
  • Tests whether the available data and ownership can support a controlled change.
  • Documents assumptions and unresolved dependencies instead of hiding uncertainty.
Fit

Useful when the operating question is real.

The Diagnostic works best when a business has a visible bottleneck and is prepared to examine the workflow behind it.

A good fit

  • Experienced people are spending time on repeatable administration, reconciliation, reporting or triage.
  • Information moves between systems and the exceptions are difficult to see or own.
  • The business is considering a hire, integration or automation build and needs a defensible priority.
  • Management will provide access, accountable owners and time with the people doing the work.

Not a good fit

  • You want a specific tool installed before the workflow and controls are understood.
  • You need a guaranteed saving, headcount reduction or payback claim before evidence is reviewed.
  • No one can own the result or provide the access needed to assess the current process.
  • The request is for broad AI strategy without a real operating workflow or decision in scope.
Two weeks

From operating question to decision-ready roadmap.

The timetable starts once the agreed people, access and inputs are available.

Align

Confirm scope, decision owners, evidence requirements, access and the questions the Diagnostic must answer.

Trace

Map the current workflow with the people who run it and establish the strongest available baseline.

Assess

Test value, feasibility, controls, dependencies and implementation choices before ranking the opportunities.

Decide

Deliver the written roadmap, recommendations and walkthrough, including build scope only where justified.

The roadmap remains yours.

The Diagnostic is a standalone engagement. You can implement its recommendations internally, take them to another builder or ask Clerq to quote for the work it recommends.

  • Two-week Diagnostic from £2,500
  • No required follow-on Build
  • Fixed-price Clerq recommendations where appropriate
  • Three months of Run included after a Clerq Build

Questions

Diagnostic FAQ

What does the Diagnostic cost?
The Clerq Diagnostic starts from £2,500. The final fee reflects the breadth and complexity of the agreed review and is confirmed before work begins.
Is the Diagnostic a commitment to a build?
No. The roadmap is yours. Build follows only if the Diagnostic recommends work and you choose to proceed with Clerq.
Will every workflow receive an automation recommendation?
No. The right recommendation may be to improve ownership, data or an existing system, or to leave the workflow unchanged. The Diagnostic is intended to prevent unjustified builds as well as identify valuable ones.
What happens after a Clerq Build?
A Clerq Build includes three months of Run monitoring, tuning and review. Continued support after that period is optional and agreed separately.
